01/09/03 Added some GREAT pics to chris's stratos page of the installed dry sump and gilmer drive works!
08/08/03 Added probably one of the best 124 bc restorations i have EVER seen to the fiat fans section - the paint work is truly spectacular and the engine bay has been lovingly restored! great work.
07/08/03 Added more pics to the fiat fans section.. it is now the most accessed part of this site after the forum - i think i'll have to do something about the load times.. as there is a LOT of images in there now! (14mb alone)
07/08/03 Added Michaels build in progress to the project corner - he's got a stonking hot engine ready to go into a yet to be acquired 124cc... can't wait to see it in!
05/08/03 Added Joes 124 rebuild to the fiat fans section... Never ceases to amaze me people continuing to rebuild these great cars and applying lots of time/effort and $$ in a very rewarding hobby!
01/08/03 Guy Barker has sent in some further images of his 124bc build up - this series demonstrates the upgrade to a serious borg warner differential with some rose jointed suspension settings... Click on Guy's 124 BC for the pics!
31/07/03 Look at what some crazy dude did to his Fiat, from the information i've been given the car is in Germany? and yes that is a v8 stuffed in its nose! I'm not an expert - but judging by a few small details it looks like ford v8.. If anyone know who owns this car - or knows the website it was taken from, could you please email me.
30/07/03 Just got some pics in from Jon and the engine build of his 8v turbo project... looking great so far!
29/07/03 Added Phil's and Heaths 124's to the fiatfans section!
28/07/03 Added Tom and Jarrod's fiat's to the fiatfans gallery - Jarrods 124 is getting a pretty serious abarth engine - with all the exotic trimmings you'd expect from a fiat nutter!
05/07/03 The new pics of Jim's spider are up!

The words from jim's mouth......
The doors have been blasted and painted with por15. The windshield is from bruces part bin - and the frame is brand new. Notice the laptop mount "for tuning the megasquirt and gps location software" and carbon fiber dash / shifter plate.
Ive coated the peeling chrome on my taillight housings with carbon fiber and clear epoxy "nice"
The body has yet to be blocked out but you can see how straight it has turned out.. The rear quarters are welded in place and have not been glassed yet. There is absolutly no bondo on this car yet.. "what you see is what ive got"
Nice work so far!! Just waiting on the engine to be completed!!
05/07/03 Not too much to update... Jim wildman has sent me new pics of his work in progress spider build which i'll be posting asap.. I've been extremely busy renovating which is where 100% of my time has been dedicated at the moment :)
21/5/03 Terrible week having lost all the posts of the forum, apologies for this... we'll have to work twice as hard now to replace them! I've added Tom's AWESOME montecarlo to the fiat fans. check out that VX engine in the BACK!!!! job well done!
17/5/03 I've had to relocate the website once again due to my previous host going broke! I'm now with a better host who appears to give even better service and quality!!!! Those of you who have email accounts @turbo124.com - they have all been restored and are working fine! click the Check Email link to check your email with webmail client... If you have any troubles setting up outlook express - just email me!
26/4/03 Fiat fans section has been updated with Carls 131 and x 1/9 which are due for major works.. I'm also on the hunt for a good condition 16v head, so if anyone has one or knows who does, please email me...
24/4/03 Just received some pics in from JON, from Perth. Jon has done a huge rebuild on his 124BC, using my former 8v engine, brakes, intercooler and a few other little parts.. It's certainly looking like a pretty serious bit of gear! hopefully we'll see it running in the near future and terrorising the streets of perth!

4/4/03 Everthing going swell, and the FORUM is a rocking with 21 Registered users and some good discussions! Come have a look!
22/03/03 Fiat fans updated with Anthony's124cc rebuild...
19/03/03 Fiat fans updated with Peter's 124bc don't forget the FORUM
18/03/03 Pics are now in of the stratos with 16v installed and looking great.. Fantastic fit, keen readers will notice the dry sump setup, and the inlet manifold - throttle body facing the wrong way, this will be reversed soon.. looking great! Click on Chris's Stratos to view the pics!
17/03/03 Further news on Chris's 16v Install, the engine is now all bolted in place. Apparently everything went well without a hitch. Awaiting for photo's, should be online soon!
17/03/03 Keen on a email address with yourname@turbo124.com ? I'm trialling a service where you can apply online for your own personalised email address, follow the 'free email' link to sign up...
14/03/03 The forum is now up and running, I've got to fine tune a few things, but I hope that it prospers well with many people swinging by for a chat... Login look around, and come back often. You can access the forum via the link bar above, or through the address http://www.turbo124.com/forum/ thanks!
9/03/03 Ok, we are back up and running, I'll be installing a forum soon, so we can get people to share stories and promote technical discussions... Stay tuned!
5/03/03 I'm upgrading the site to host a lot more new features that should make coming hear a pleasurable experience, as such, i've upgraded the server this site is currently sitting on.... As such, there may be delays in accessing this page from time to time as I transfer and upload the site to the new server!
15/02/03 I'm starting to introduce some PHP scripting into the website to improve load times and overall performance of the site... please note the main page is now enter.php if you are accessing the site from a .htm link... cheers
15/02/03 Thanks to Karl, Simon and Maki for information regarding the SEAT 1919cc engine. Seems these engines were installed into the 124 ESPECIAL 2000, SEAT lancia Beta's, HPE's, and Coupe's. However they are very hard to come by now as SEAT also installed the regular 1995cc engine that the rest of the world got in there fiat/lancia bundles of joy.... So the searching goes on for one of these very elusive cranks.. Apparently, they are not fully counterweighted, which is another bonus. Anyone who has access to one, please contact me...
Here is a link to KARLS website. He is installing a 16v turbo engine into a Spider doing most of the handy work himself... Looks great so far! LINK HERE
10/02/03 I need some help. I am trying to source a 86mm crank that is found from the SEAT cars. I think these cars were made under license and are essentially old fiat castings and toolings that were purchased from the mother company by several
companies in Europe, Specifically - I think - Spain & Portugal. I have enclosed some pictures of the Crank and if anyone knows where i can find one, could they please contact me

07/02/03 Ok, back.. again, this time with Jim Wildman's very respectable restoration of his 69 spider. This guy has put a huge effort into rebuilding his car from ground up, literally. He goes through a step by step guide of how to make your own carbon fibe bonnet. I'm quite impressed and can't wait to see further progress. I have uploaded the page as he has sent it to me, it is very graphic intense, and may take a long while for the images to load, there is about 1mb of data and images... Very worthwhile, i'll condense it soon with thumbnails to help improve upload times of the page.
As for Chris's 16v install into his stratos, he has decided to dry sump the engine, and should be receiving all his bits and pieces soon, so we should have some photo's of the engine in the back of the strat real soon!
Deon from South Africa also has a nice ride, which i've included in the fiat fans section. He has replaced the blower on his VX with a turbo and also grafted a BMW inlet manifold with aftermarket fuel injection.. Very nice build with turbo power!
Uros Piperski from Serbia is converting his Yugo to 16v turbo!!! should be a huge jump in power from the current 55hp they came out with standard. He has his own site, and has actually designed his own Connecting Rod for the Fiat engine.. you can view his site HERE
Don't be shy, show everyone your ride, and maybe that little special touch you busted your chops making UNIQUE! I think thats the name of the game when modifying a car, having something that is a little out of left field..
22/12/02 I've recently lost all my emails due to a hard drive failure... anyone who has emailed me recently, can you please re-send, and I will answer ASAP.
Sorry for the delay!
14/12/02 I've been getting a few emails regarding the rack and pinionsystem run in my car. I'll try and get a HOW TO section going for this very soon. Suitable racks can be found from the Fiat 131 1600 cars... don't forget the crossmember, as you'll needthe mounting brackets. The exact rack used in my car is a bit of a mystery, it is definately from an ALFA, quite possibly an alfetta.
11/11/02 Jeff Davison from Atlanta USA has sent in some pictures of his awesome Stratos that is currently in its final build stages, featuring a genuine abarth 131 16 valve racing head, carillo rods, forged pistons, top and bottom stud kits, this engine sure has the essentials to make great horsepower reliably! Heres a sneak peak at the goodies!

4/11/02 I'm back. Spent the last month getting married and holidaying in Las Vegas... What a place! Highly recommend it to any that haven't been yet! Not really much news to post. The project engine has stalled. I am unsure when i'll be able to recommence development. I'd still like to keep the site updated as much as possible, so to all those that haven't sent me pictures of there cars yet, please do so.
Also, i'd be the first to admit that there are some technical errors throughout this site... If you have picked some of these up, please post me an email and i'll correct them.
7/9/02 I've added another section on How To retrofit the 16v head onto the old Twin Cam block..
6/09/02 More pics of Chris's Car has been added to his page.......
5/09/02 So, how do you build what will be the meanest FIAT engine in the land? You do a hell of a lot of research! Guy Croft will be taking us through the finest details from selecting the right components, to specialised coatings to give that all important edge! Guys correspondence will be put up in the TECH TALK section in the column to the left... This section will be updated often.
4/09/02 I am very excited. After discussions, I'm very pleased to announce that legendary FIAT tuner Guy Croft will be a Technical Director of my next project. Guys reputation with the FIAT twin cam speaks for itself... No other tuner has done more for the Fiat Marque in production of parts, service and support on a world wide scale than Guy. More information to follow.. if you'd like to check out Guys, work you can find him in the LINKS page.
1/09/02 If this project proceeds.. This is the turbo that will be used... The absolute GOLIATH. 12 kilograms, rated to 1000bhp dual ball bearing centre. Totally BEAUTIFUL! and very expensive.
31/08/02 Today, i travelled out to inspect a potential 124 for the next buildup... Here are the pics

Uncanny how closely the paint work ressembles my old car, this car however, appears violet. Inside has leather seats, which are rather worn and the rest of the interior is in need of repair, The body has quite a few stone chips. The car isn't really better over all than my previous car, which is rather disappointing. On the flip side, the 16v engine has forged pistons, billet rods, motec M4 Pro computer, rack and pinion steering, 4pot BMW brakes.
Mandatory upgrades are the turbo, intercooler, inlet manifold, differential and a few other little things... Overall i'm quite disappointed for what is being asked for the car... To be honest this has depressed me greatly, i didn't realised how good my car was until i started to compare it to others... Finding a replacement is going to be very very hard....
The Plates are PERFECT thou...... So what do YOU think I should do? me!!
31/08/02 Very funny FIAT ad that runs in ITALY 2.5Megs, click HERE
27/08/02 Guy's Corner has been updated. Pics of the new 16v head etc.
20/8/02 It is done. The final screws have been sunk... The engine has been put on a boat to the UK, where it awaits its new owner....
A 800bhp clutch, ZF gearbox with remote shifter, and 3pot brakes are also on there way to San Francisco!!!! More info on the build up of 2 nice Spiders to come!!
Plans are under way to acquire another 16v head for my new project... And it also seems a very distant possibility that I may have sourced a car to put this engine into!!! Stay tuned...
17/8/02 Finally, 2 weeks overdue, the boxes have finally been made up... Apologies to those waiting on parts... they will be going out this week!

6/8/02 After much deliberation over what my next project should be I've formulated a rough outline of the direction I will be taking. It hasn't been easy, and the thought of taking on a totally different project like a Jap/Euro car has also been seriously considered. The MKIV Supra and BMW M3 have been serious potential candidates, however due to the massive $$$ needed, I had to dismiss these ideas.
My first idea was to use the current engine out of the 124 coupe, the 5 cylinder, 2 litre, 20 valve turbo powerplant to start as the basis of the new project. This presented a few benefits... Shorter stroke and an extra cylinder, this engine had the potential to BREATH a lot better than the 16v head, it also had the fundamentals to rev a lot higher.. But no one has ever rebuilt an engine like this for huge horsepower and as such, it could be absolutely amazing, or it could fail dismaly.
So I decided that I should stick with what has been proven, yet push the envelope a little further. 2 litre 16v as i've used previously however, I will be rebuilding it with the focus of revving up to 13,000rpm reliably! The bottom end would consist of a 86mm crank, titanium connecting rods, aluminium/berylium (spelling?) pistons. The head, from the trusty 16v lancias would also have to be modified to cope with extreme rpm, different valve springs billet cam shafts, extrude abrasive hone porting.
I have unsettled business to finish.....
I want 1000bhp, on methanol.
I have been talking to some engine builders, and some people involved in formula one. It seems that if i can source the right bearings, and have them powder coated in a special material, bearing wear at 13,000rpm should give me a reliable engine for the equivalent of 1 hr race time.
As for the car this will go in, that has yet to be decided.... stay tuned for more soon
3/8/02 The engine is finally completely assembled. I've been promised the boxes will be ready by mid next week. Pictures........

27/7/02 This cam is big, and I mean BIG, it is the BIGGEST cam you can possibly run in the 16v head without serious modifications... I thought my previous cam was big... it was just a baby... Check out the pics... Also included... a tough Clutch being shipped to the U.S.A... as used on my car, good for over 800bhp....
Notice the first two pictures side by side, the red cam is the inlet cam, and the yellow, the exhaust, look at the comparable clearances from the head of the two cams... The exhaust cam, was formally a decent sized inlet cam... which is dwarfed by the HUGE red cam... very nice!!! I'm insanely jealous that i'll be unable to hear this thing turn over... let alone drive it.. The engine is planned to be shipped mid next week to its new owner, keep in touch for progress of it's build in the UK...

24/7/02 A while in between updates, progress continues at a reasonable pace... The new cam is installed, we are just awaiting the cargo box to be fabricated... Pictures to follow ASAP!
6/7/02 Anyone that has MSN Messanger can now talk to me LIVE if you have a microphone headset.. If your keen on a chat about Fiat's and 16v Turbos.... you can MSN me @ fiatboy @ hotmail . com
6/7/02 OK, in all it's glory, the new ALL REBUILT 16v ENGINE!!!!

The end inlet cam lobe was starting to wear ever so slightly.. on inspection it appears as if it was due to lack of oil on startup... When running cams this large... you can't leave the engine sitting too long as the oil drains away from the head, leaving no protection for the cam lobes.... Regular running or a few squirts of oil on startup is essential. The Last pic is of a tough 8v engine that's been rebuilt... using the fiat spider fuel injection manifold.... very nice indeed!!!
BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!
Vince Rigoli in his fiat 2litre turbo 16v engined car, has recently equalled the Australian 4cyl Drag class record running a stomping 8.527 @ 158mph....1.28s 60ft He crossed the traps at a paltry 7400rpm... well below the 9500 rpm limit.... This car is in a league of it's own.. it runs NO nitrous, compared to others in the same class... Good work Vince... Having previously run a 1.25 60ft.. 8.3s isn't out of the question!!!!!
6/7/02 Guy Barker, The man... His mission has begun, a total rebuild of his Fiat 124 BC coupe is currently under way... I've added a link to the left of the screen where all his images and story will be stored..... Check it out
5/7/02 FIAT FANS updated... Also, I'll be covering a new build up being performed by Guy Barker. The project? Psycho Fiat 124 Turbo.. 16v Turbo with all the fruit.... Stay tuned for that and MORE!
3/7/02 The engine was finally assembled this week. On Final inspection of the valve clearances, we noticed that number 4 cam lobe was slightly worn. A replacement part is on order and is due in next week. Although rare, I have heard of this problem... Pictures of the assembled engine to follow!!!
8/6/02 Excellent progress. The bottom end is together!!! now that the bottom end is done, we are just awaiting a new 3mm copper head gasket. Once that's in... the head will be bolted down!!! We are confident the engine will be completed by the end of this week.. Then we'll box it up, and send it to it's new owner in England.. Hopefully we'll be able to bring you progress of its fitment in installments soon!

6/6/02 I have some Abarth 3 Pot Calipers and Discs to suit the Fiat 124/125 front end... They are in good condition and contain everything you need to just bolt on and drive away... A great upgrade from the crappy standard Fiat Brakes.... Priced to sell ASAP,

2/6/02 Fiat Fans Section Updated
1/6/02 Ok more progress on this 16v engine build. The block has returned in all its glory 4 new sleeves, o-ringed, bored & honed to suit the new Ross Forged pistons. The head has returned rebuilt and assembled. We just need to clearance the block internally to accept the Billet connecting rods.. then the engine will be finally assembled and shipped for fitment into a Lancia Stratos in the UK. We hope to get the engine fully assembled by the end of next week. Stay tuned for more pics.

18/05/02 Check this out. Marut Okcuoglu, hailing from Turkey sent in some pics of his 124 cc and 131 rally cars used in local rallies in Turkey... The 124 ran a 1800cc with twin 44 webers... NICE! Pics are from Circa 1988

07/05/02 The shell of the Fiat has been sold... The new owner will be transferring a tough 8v engine into place... We'll also see the car with 17" rims... should look great!!!!! Now we just need to convince him to slot in a 16v engine :)
01/5/02 Wow, what a day! I've been hard at it removing bits and pieces from the car.. I think RAPE is a better word to use... Today, the big brakes came off, and the standard 124 brakes went back on. The intercooler came out, and so did the Simmons rims.. Here are some pictures of the destruction...
The first up pics are of ORIGINAL Abarth 3 spot calipers with larger discs. Very nice indeed. Followed by the 15" Simmons, which were replaced with the crappiest 13" rims i could find to deter myself from rebuilding the car AGAIN from scratch!! (I need a lot of deterents at the moment) The Big Intercooler in all its glory.. this is one MASSIVE unit.. 3" thick fantastic quality.. Followed by the monster brakes we ran up front, the 300zx calipers and discs.. VERY VERY heavy, but they sure do the job pulling up nice and quick..
Just waiting for someone to buy the Fiat shell now... tis the only thing that hasn't gone... Hopefully it goes before i change my mind.....

24/4/02 Check this out... A guy from a fiat spider forum has sent me some pics of an 8v engine that ran a turbo and a supercharger!! ala Lancia Delta S4... The CLAIMED power figures are 536 BHP @ 8000 rpm the engine uses 1800 rods in a 2 litre block with custom pistons. The quoted compression ratio is 5:1 very interesting... apparently a 124 AC is being prepared to accept this motor again... these pics are from this site http://w1.920.telia.com/~u92024797/turbo/
not a bad exhaust manifold... check out the very loooooooooong pipes...

The turbo is a decent size, from what i can make out it's a Garret T04.... the supercharger is not pictured.. although you can see the toothed crank pulley on image 4. I'd be interested to know how they got the turbo and supercharger to work together.. whether the turbo was blowing through the supercharger.. or whether there were separate entries... If anyone an elaborate please contact me..
21/04/02 Found some nice pics of the fiat..... when it was going....... just getting all teary eyed and nostralgic....

19/4/02 The REBUILD BEGINS!!! just, not for my car... the new block is a lancia block, which needs some machining.. here are some pics of the car in it's carcass form...

This is only a logbook of events that have passed. With the redevelopment of the website. We have removed a lot of unecessary pictures pre 23/12/02. Most of these images have been moved to the 16 Valve124 page.
16/4/02 The end of an era. The FIAT is no more. Recently, i've decided that i have achieved most of what i wanted out of this car and i've decided to tackle a new project. The details of the new project I will be keeping under wraps until all is confirmed.. it will be wild..
This raises the questions of what to do with the car.. as sad as it may sound the Fiat will be dismantled and sold in pieces.
The engine (which is currently coming together) will be shipped to the UK to be placed in a Lancia Stratos. I'm sure it will be in good hands. (hello power to weight ratio!)
There will be a lot of components left over... all of which i will be advertising through this site... the parts list will be going up within a week or so... If there is something in particular that you would like to know more about or if you want prices please email me. I will be able to ship world wide anything from a bolt to the entire shell.
Over the past few years.. i've met a lot of interesting people from around the world, all of whom love the lampredi twin cam engines and the various bodies that were wrapped around them... I hope I have inspired many of the people who have visited this site to take up the challenge and get the most out of there car no matter what the make/model/motorvation it has...
In any one day this site receives and average of 2411 hits. I never expected it to be so big.
This is not the end of the site as we know it... i want to continue on the good work i've started and i will be converting this site to a shrine to all those who have done something really special to the twin cam engine.. I hope to persuade several people currently undergoing MASSIVE build ups (read 16v turbos) and maybe show case what they are up to and what they hope to achieve..
Please stay in touch, and come by often...
cheers!
Dave
27/3/02 Final Preparations are being completed on the block. Some pictures to show you of the pistons that were damaged... very interesting stuff!

Ouch YES!!! The piston expands under the huge thermal load caused by a lean fuel mixture (not enough fuel) the piston expands and then begins to scrap along the bore... not nice..the piston then fatigues at it's weakest point, which in this case is at the edge near the valve recess. If you look carefully at the top of the piston you can see the flame marks. In the perfect world you want this to be in the centre of the piston, indicating the maximum amount of ignition advance that you can run...
In this photo you can see the flame mark is off to the exhaust side of the piston, indicating a retarded ignition timing... We can safely run more ignition and get more power out of this engine safely!!! Things like this are only evident when you strip an engine!

A secret look at what we have inside! the beautiful 4340 billet con rods with massive ARP bolts. The head pictures demonstrate the o-ringed head... and look at the amount of lift on those exhaust valves!!!!!!!!! Standard exhaust cams would never give that much lift!
18/3/02 The block is back from the machine shop, only one sleeve was required. The pistons have arrived, and have been flycut for valve recess. All that remains is the reassembly of the engine and fitment back into the car. We are considering adding a Voltage regulator to the car to maintain a 16v constant potential difference to prevent a voltage drop ever occurin again. JACOBS supplies a great voltage reg.
27/02/02 Half a day spent yesterday removing the engine from the Fiat. The exhaust manifold was cracked where the wastegate pipe was welded. This fatigue was attributed to the weight of the wastegate. This will be rewelded, and support brackets for the wastegate will be installed. On removal of the head we noticed the piston tops had started to melt.
This was a little worrying.
We removed the bottom end and the full extent became apparent. Pistons number 2 and 3 had melted there crowns. No evidence of detonation was seen. It seems that the car suffered a lean out of the fuel mixtures at some stage. The bearings were perfect. No evidence of unusual bearing wear was seen. This was the main concern we wanted to check as the car had been revved to over 9000 on numerous occasions, and had been dyno'd extensively. The rods were perfect. Once again no evidence of detonation was seen. This would have been evident from unusual wear on the bearings, and can sometimes be seen to warp the con-rods.
So what exactly happened? We are unsure, and i doubt we will ever actually know exactly.. There are a few theories however. The fuel pressure regulator has a locking nut and this was not on when we removed the engine. This could have caused the engine to run at a lower fuel pressure and would have results in a lean out. Another theory is that the fuel pump was unable to supply enough fuel, another pump will be added to ensure this would never be the case again. However i doubt this was the cause.
Unfortunately I don't have any dataloggin of the runs we did at the summernats. This would have shed more light on the situation. Thankfully there is minimal damage. We have another set of pistons ready to go in. The rest of the engine i was very impressed with. No valve damage, perfect clutch, no wear on the main's bearings. Perfect rods / bearings. The engine will be put back together this week, reinstalled, and re-dyno'd.
Interestingly enough we saw some very big potential for the engine. The flame marks on the top of the pistons were not in the dead centre.. they were off the side toward the exhaust valves (pictures to come) this indicates that we can further advance the timing!!!! more timing = more power SAFELY! at the moment we are only running 16 degrees advance at full load. This might not sound like a lot, but with very long conrods, and a highish compression and still running pump fuel more timing would release considerable amounts of power.
My goal is to unleash 500 rear wheel horsepower, using pump fuel. That equates to around 635 BHP at the engine. This would be at the upper limits of the turbos efficiency range. This would also require a carbon dioxide cooling gas spray over the intercooler. And possibly water injection.
Is this achievable? I'm unsure, but i want to see if it can be done. Stay tuned for photos, of the old pistons and the new, and also a detailed look at the engine components never before seen!!
18/1/02 The 16 Valve Engine details and pictures have been updated, check it out. We've decided to remove the engine from the car to check for any unusual wear and tear. We've certainly revved the ring off this engine. It has endured over 20 full power dyno runs up to 9000rpm. And we've seen 8800 on the street. We'd like to get an idea of what is going on inside the engine. Whilst the engine is out, we'll also be rebuilding the gearbox as it has started to leak from the rear seal a touch. Work on the car will begin in ernest next week. I'm very tempted to clean up the head whilst it is off the engine. We haven't touched it one bit. The casting dags are still there and look pretty ugly, and i'm sure power gains can be made smoothing these out. Thanks to the many well wishers who came to say hello to me at the Summernats. I'm sorry i couldn't spend more time talking. I had tunnel vision all day, focusing on the fiat......
Take care.
5/1/02 Summernats Video of the FIAT on the dyno.. DYNO 2 is the best. Hear the car as it comes on boost, and then starts to wheel spinning frantically. MANY thanks to Clayton for the Mpegs, Thanks matey for capturing these moments.
Some great pics i had to include

Dyno 1 dyno operator loading up car slightly
Dyno 2 big wheel spin
Dyno 3 more wheel spin
Dyno 4 this was the final run producing 290rwhp
Engine after the run
>More movies!!!! thanks to leigh for these.
Side dyno run 1
Side dyno run 2
5/1/02 Back from the Summernats. Albeit a little prematurely. The car did not perform up to its best once again due to horrendous wheel spin. We managed 290bhp at the rear at 20psi at 6000rpm. The car was not strapped down enough. The tyres had glazed. And the engine was running too hot. I decided to pull the car out. We've got some pics, and i'll scan in the dyno sheet as soon as.

2/1/02 Happy new year. Tis only a few days until the summernats. After a few days of driving the car i am very happy. Only a few small gremlins have appeared. The rear gear box seal is stuffed and needs replacing. This will be done tommorow. The car will also be taken to an autronic specialist to check that my fuel and ignition maps are safe, and make minor changes to the idle control and so forth. Another dyno run will also be performed and hopefully we'll be able to show you the power/torque graphs. Most importantly a boost controller must be fitted. The standard wastegate setting is 18psi. For the summernats we'd like to run 30psi. Pics below showing how far we have revved the engine. Stay tuned.
28/12/01 I have discovered the meaning of TOO much power. The fiat breaks traction in 4 forward gears... with only 18psi boost!I I was too scared to attempt it in 5th.. I think i'll leave that for a little while. The car is scary. I accidentily *cough* overrevved the car to 8500rpm in 2nd gear.. scaring most of the pedestrians nearby, and mainly myself. The car is all i could have possibly wished for. It is however far too loud, we'll have to do something about this, possibly 1 or 2 resonators to quieten it down.
