Hello,
I just bought a replica of Lancia stratos, this is unfinished project that will require lot of work and redesigning of the chassis is a must as i want a safe rollcage(spaceframe). For now just some photos. I have all the bodywork for group 4(wide wheel arches, spoiler, 4x headlamps etc.

A bit of a progress. This is what was made yesterday and today(i am still in the workshop :) ). Still not finished but will be fine at the end.

The roll cage is made in IRECO http://www.ireco.com.pl My fiat has the roll cage also made there.

Right now there is also cross on the behind the rear seats and supports for engine frame.

Up to this moment it took about 24 work hours(but not in rush). We started to work monday morning but the guy on the photos is a professional roll cage builder so he knows what is he doing.

The front wishbones will probably stay there with some mods done to them(or i will make new ones, do not know it yet) But the rear ones will go for sure as i need to make custom ones to accept honda civic uprights.
Right now i am waiting for coilover casings that are beeing modified to accept bilstein strut inserts.

I will have to make new front suspension as the front wheels are unfortunately too far away to the front and 17" wheels do not fit the wheel arches and it is a bit too narrow at the front. I will probably try to replicate the ackerman angle from ford escort mk2 which makes the wheels almost paralel when in turn, this makes the car to turn harder but allows easy sideways driving as the car is accelerating all the time when doing sideways driving and is hard to oversteer(at least this is what i was told by a friend who drives such car in rallies).
I still do not know if i will be able to make mcperson rear suspension as there is very little room for complete mcperson upright. Maybe i will go into double wishbone setup.
I have installed the engine in the chassis and now i am able to take care of the rear suspension.

For the last week i was working on the rear suspension, the problem was to eliminate bump steer and here is how i done that. Unfortunately honda uprights(hubs) do not have mounting point for steering arms so i had to make my own ones that are welded to the coilover strut. I have no bump steer through all travel of the strut so it should work fine. I heard that some toe out on rear wheels is fine but hope this will be good.
Tommorow i will pick up extensions for the driveshafts as i need them to be longer for about 7cm to each side and even then i need to use about 30 mm spacers on each wheel- stratos is much wider in group 4 verson then honda civic :) should work fine.
The wishbone mounts are just tacked, later i will reinforce that all after i make sure it is all perfect.
Had to make a jig to copy the wishbone.

are you going to strengthen the tabs where the suspension arm bolts to the chassis? They look quite thin compared to the rest of the setup in the photos.

Yes i will but i need to roll the chassis over to make it look nice. It is all 3 and 4 mm steel so it will not brake for sure.

here is partially made front suspension, tubes are just tacked for measurements, i need to check how the geometry changes in the whole range and after it is done i can copy the wishbones.

Bit of a progress. floor is done, driver;s seat is a modified OMP eco and i had to lower the floor in the section where the seat is mounted to get enough clearance for the helmet when i sit in the car, still need to do that for codrivers floor. Steering is trial fitted and works fine. now waiting for wilwood brake pedal with balance bar but i will have to make my own clutch pedal as it will not be a straight pedal(cannot simply use wilwood unit).
When i get the pedals i will make the firewall(or should i say trunk wall :) )
